Palast der Republik - Symbol of the former GDR, it will disappear from the Berlin horizon from January, when the demolition work begins. The German parliament decided to put the building down, with the idea of replacement with Imperial City Palace, destroyed during II WW and in 1951 completely razed by GDR government. Groups of Palace Saviours are determined to fight to the end. "We don't think we have a right to destroy an historical document. We don't have the right to make that decision for future generations."
